This week I was sent this Microwave Rice Cooker from Sistema, and we decided to give it a try tonight. The cooker claims to save more than half of the cooking time for steamed rice, and anything that reduces prep time in my kitchen is a good thing.
Use is extremely simple: Add one part rice, two parts water and assemble. Cook on full power for 8-12 minutes and that's it. No boiling water, adding rice, reducing to low for 20-25 minutes and then fluffing for traditional stovetop preparation.
In all it worked exactly as advertised and will see heavy use in our kitchen moving forward. It can be used for any steamed grain, so this is the perfect quick and easy way to prepare quinoa as well.
